Make simple syrup from about 1/2 c sugar.
Heat and let syrup reduce a bit. We want it above boiling.
Add Add the ginger last. It needs less time.

Add about 12 oz cranberries, and just enough water to start simmering.
Simmer until cranberries start to break up, and it has reduced to a thick mass of cranberries.
Fish out spices, if you can.

Add the juice and zest from 1 orange, and about 1/4 c brown sugar.
Stir and simmer just a minute or two.

Place in jar in the refrigerator. Pectin should gell up after being chilled.
