French Onion Dip
I saw several, very simple recipes on-line.
I did not follow them (exactly), but still got a dip better than
every one I have ever bought, and it was quite simple.
Saute in about 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 med onion, minced.
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp salt
Until onions well carmelized.
Add about 1/4 tsp fish sauce, common in Vietnamese and Thai cooking.
Allow onion mix to cool a bit, then mix into 1 c sour cream.
Chill and serve.
