Gyudon
Beef for rice bowl (Donburi)
Very simple
- 1 to 2 onion, depending on size, slivered
- about 1 lb. beef, thinly sliced
- 1.5c Dashi (broth, or miso may work)
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 4 Tbsp Mirin (or sake+sugar, preferably brown)
- 1 Tbsp ginger, grated
Simmer onion in Dasi for about 5 minutes.
Add beef
Add soy and mirin
Add ginger after a few minutes
Simmer beef for about 5 minutes total
Serve over rice garnished with red pickeled ginger.
